It was either 15w6 or an Aura NS-15. I'd love to run the Aura, but it is a bit pricey. If for any reason I'm not satisfied with the 15w6, I might end up buying the Aura, but I think I will be satisfied. The 15 does look somewhat tiny to me, I was used to running an 18 in my Accord.

When i have the right car to do it in, i am DYING to do an old school build. Probably some old Soundstream Reference amps, Premier DEX-P1r, and who knows what else

Wish i could do it in the G but i feel silly having an entire system based off of parts from 10 years before the car was built
In the even that you aren't happy with the W6, which i think you will be, let me know and i can hook you up with a MK1 Brahma 15, Dual 1.4 coils that i have sitting around waiting for a project

I'd have to pass on the Brahma. I used to have a 12" MK II. I was actually going to recone to a 15, but I never got my Brahma MKI from my friend. I like trying out new things so I don't know what I would. I mainly ran TC Sounds subs, had probably about 25 of them. I was always pleased with their lowend and the way the sounded, but I got tired of them.
Well, I'm already deciding to change things up. Just a friend's Camry and the midbass he has is what I'm looking for. So I'm going to see about getting 10" midbass drivers (Peerless SLS) in my doors. Doing so would require me to get another amp. I might sell the 9.0 and go with a 6.0 since even then it would be plenty of power for the JL 15w6.
The choices in amps would be as follows:
Option 1:An additional 4.0. I would then be able to use the 2nd 4.0 and bridge them onto the SLS 10's. More expensive, but more power for the midbass.
Option 2: An additional 2.0. I could put the mids on the 4.0 and the tweeters on the 2.0. This is a little cheaper, but the SLS's wouldn't get as much power.
I still have to see if it can be done. I may end up modding the doors after all. The SLS's are almost 5" deep, just have to do some measuring.
I kind of want to go this route, even though it is a little more expensive because the midbass, as mentioned, is what I want and I don't think the 6.5's will give me what I'm looking for. Plus, I don't know of may people running 10's in their doors and for a G35, it would be a first.

Wow that deadener is serious buisness. If you do all the car it would prob be road noise and vibration free. Is it really heavy or about the same as the others.
I got an 85 C10 pickup and I loaded the cad with stuff from the shop I worked it and I was very pleased with the results. Looks like this stuff is better.

I'm going to be running 8" Seas Nextel in my door soon

I would bridge the 4.0 and give each midbass 500 watts! I would keep the 9.0and find a 2.0. A 2.0 sold recently for $280 so you might be able to find one at a good price!

Nice work so far. If you end up not using the zapco component speakers please let me know... I'll take them off your hands!!!

It's a tad heavier than others, but it's not a big deal for me. When I did my Accord it did wonder just doing the wheel wells with liquid deadener. It was really noticeable and gave the car a more luxury feel.Originally Posted by naughty240

Nice Carlos, I would like to see build progress pics, that would be real cool. How would I get the 500w bridged out of the 4.0 for each midbass? The only issue is that they are 8 ohm mids. And you're saying stick with 2.0 and use them for the tweets? If that's the case then the midrange and midbass would be on the 4.0 and midrange would get sufficient power, but the midbass would be getting 50w each. I don't quite know if that's enough power for them.Originally Posted by SR20DET510

I more than likely will be using them, but I do have the crossovers which I haven't used. I wouldn't mind selling them since I don't think I would go passive again. I love the capabilities of going active.Originally Posted by JG35E

Are you going three way?
10" in door, 6.5" and tweet in kick?
I thought you were planning to go 4.0 to door, 9.0 to sub, and 2.0 to tweet
(2 way)?
4.0 bridged is 500x2

I found out James is running about 90w to his SLS 10's with the gain all the way down. So I'm still confused as to what to do since the SLS's are 8 ohms each.
I plan to do 10's in doors, 6.5's in kicks, and tweeter either in the a pillar or kicks as well.
