Removing Factory Installed Sat Antenna?

Should it be a problem? I don't like the look of the antenna on the the exterior of the car. Would removing it and putting it inside work? I've heard the antenna is attached by adhesive...hopefully, removing it wouldn't pull the paint off? Thanks!!

i dont think it would hurt, unless you have metallic tinted windows inside of your car. Lots of people here have put aftermarket satellite antennas inside the widshield (including me- gps satellite antenna)

The antenna is attached by pressure sensitive adhesive as well as a magnetic base. Be very careful removing it. You might want to consider heating it up (park the car in the sun or use a hair dryer) and using dental floss is necessary. Go slow.

My XM antenna is mounted underneath my rear deck of my coupe. If you remove the carpet to reveal the bottom of the deck you will find there is a hole about 1" in diameter near the center. If you take a part the large clarion/terk antenna you will find that the actual antenna is about 1" in diameter, and sticks up about .75" from the circuit board. Stick the antenna part up in the hole and secure it. Works great and you can't even tell its there. I don't have tinted windows.
