Radio Reception

Hi all

Just bought my 04 G35 a month ago and my FM radio reception seems horrible. Every station is fuzzy and I live in a populated area where this is not a problem.

Any ideas?

Mine works fine, but there is a known issue with radio reception in '03 sedans, I believe. I think there's a TSB out there. It might apply to 03/04, I'd search for something along those lines.

Is this a stock system or after market. Sounds like the antenna is not connected properly. Common issue on a lot of installs from what I have been seeing

Behind the stock radio, there's a plug with 2 bronze (something like a power plug and rounded), that's the antena for the stock radio.

Since that I'm in this thread and been searching around as well. First of all my stock radio works perfect but then I changed to an after market radio + the little adapter for the factory attena. Sux part is that my radio reception became bad. Any of you any any idea or have this fixed?

Make sure you connected the power antenna lead from the new HU to the wire harness adapter. These cars have an antenna amp.

It is possible that the OP's antenna amp isn't working.

^^^ thanx man, I just read your other thread earlier and yes after 4 years I finally fix the damn issue. Originally everything was wired correctly, but then earlier ran to my car (work parking lot) pulled out my radio and the damn attena wire somehow got it loose, fixed that and radio is great now. Suck part is all the wires are messed up and can't push the radio back, have to wait til after work and go home fix that, probably solder the damn wires too instead of electrical tape. Thanx again man!
