Intelligent key with 2003 coupe

Hi,

I was wondering if anybody has experience with using the new intelligent key remote/key with a non intelligent key coupe.

Will the remote work for keyless entry functions?

Does the conventional key have a transponder in it for the immobiliser, and will it fit into the ignition on the '03?

THanks

This is sort of one of those unicorn threads

If someone succeeds in doing a conversion, I'd love to check it out and do it myself.

So would a lot of other folks.

the two remotes are on two different frequencies. you cannot get an intelligent key fob programmed to a non i-key car.

i took a standard fob for my 06 6mt and coverted it to fit in an i-key cover using accordfreaks mazda flip key fob thread. it took me a good 20 hours total to do it and i couldnt' tell you if it was worth it.

Yeah...
I thought you were talking about actually installing the i-key functionality, not just using the "cooler" keyfob.

meh.

I have been curious if anyone has looked into, or successfully done a complete smart key swap into a non smart key car. In other words, I have an 03 G35 with a standard key and wondering if its possible to replace my ignition, key, locks, whatever... so it would all operate like a 05-06 with the smart key. Any help?
