A little of topic, PAC just doesn't test very well. I bought their OEM-1 product to replace my head unit but keep the amplifier (in a premium system) only to find out that the unit just doesn't have enough power to drive the amplifier. Tech support told me over the phone that the unit will work for this application only to change their mind once it was installed and the symptoms were described. It seems to me after reading this thread that they just make to many assumptions.
After some more research I replaced it with a unit from DavidNavone.com that works.

Couldn't disagree more for this instance. JT and co installed the PAC on my G and ran through a few hours of software testing during the process. I have now heard of 3 different G's having this unit installed as beta test cars. When you find a flaw during testing that is a good thing. That is a good test program. Better then when the unit is in distribution no?

Keep up the good work JT and PAC dude (sorry forgot your name).

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

Before a company starts selling a product on a national level thorough testing MUST be conducted. It seems odd that a company as large and well known as PAC would 'rush' a product to market after spending the last 9 LONG months working on it.

As far as JT goes though, his extreme dedication doesn't surprise me. In my dealings with him he is a top notch retailer that went well beyond all of my expectations and I look forward to dealing with him again soon

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

I agree as well. I have a decent amount of orders on this unit. I am glad that the flaws have been doscovered BEFORE I was able to ship them out.

The hassle and confusion which would be involved to have these units sent back to PAC would have been ridiculous. I would gladly wait as long as it takes to resolve all issues before shipments are made.

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

I heard from JT earlier this week. Apparently they've figured out the problem. He said they needed to add a capacitor or something simply like that. I sent my unit back on Saturday and I should be getting it back today. I'm having it installed on Friday and I'll let everyone know how it goes.

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

FYI, I got the PAC Aux unit back from JT last week and had it installed on Friday. Drove up to my church camp with some friends (three hour drive) and watched a movie on my Avic-N1. The sounds works great through my stereo now. My car was not factory nav equipped so I had to send my PAC unit bac to JT to fix the problem (hadn't installed it yet).
Anyways, installed it and things are fine. Let's see. Only complaint I have is this small one. The PAC unit makes bot SAT 1 and SAT 2 active but I don't really have a second SAT input. The thing is that when I use the stearing wheel controls to change input, it always seems to set the input into SAT2 and not SAT1 (which my N1 is plugged into) so I have to actually push the SAT button on the dash. Really minor issue but just an observation.
Other than that, sound is great. Thanks JT for the prompt delivery!

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

Just an update people... I actually should have received my order by today or tomorrow!! They were literally already shipped out to me on friday.

BUT - I got a call from my rep at PAC and was told I have to ship these BACK to PAC, so that they can upgrade the chipsets. Apparently, they shipped my order out to me mistakenly... They just realized that their supplier of the "chip" was shipping them an older unit which would not work with all models of the G35. So I think this would explain the problem that was mentioned above. Anyways, they will rush my order, and she said the changing process would only take a day or so... Maybe I can be shipping out the pcs to customers by Monday ?

Thought I would let you all know...
Thanks.

Re: PAC AUDIO PROBLEMS

go to JT Audio and Accesories in Anaheim, CA. Hes great to work with, very fast and does a verry clean and effective job. Best of all, his prices. I am completely satisfied with the job he did on my car and wouldnt have it done by anyone else. His number is: 714-817-8282. Call him for an order and tell him Kamal with the Turbo'd G sent you :-D
