Music Videos

I'm not sure if this belongs in the right section of the forum but I just wanted to know where I can get good (audio & video) quality music videos to play in my car? I recently got a JVC KW-NX7000 7" Double Din for my car and it's yet to play any new/recent music videos. Sad, I know...

***Note: Yes, I know you can use some P2P applications such as Limewire but I also know that using those types of applications are just asking for viruses. I've read somewhere that you can pay some sort of membership (ie. $20/mth) to join a certain IRC channel and get unlimited music video downloads? Does anybody know anything about this? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on the music you like. I know for rap there is ramvideos.com and they usually have good quality videos. They use Rapidshare so having an account with rapidshare makes it quicker to download. There is one for rock music, but I forgot the name of it. Basically look for divx or xvid music videos if you do use a P2P application like limewire. They are generally around 50MB - 100MB depending on how long the video is.

Hey donpisto, thanks for your advice. I'll check out that rap site you suggested. As for the type of music I'm looking for, it's more so hip-hop, R&B and any sort of "clubbing" music. I'm actually trying to avoid using those applications such as Limewire to minimize my chances of getting infected with viruses. So do you or anybody else out there have any other suggestions? Thanks!

Oh ok cool. Yeah that's pretty much the site that most videos on limewire will be from, they just get uploaded there. I'm sure they have much more videos than the ones listed on their page, probably in their forums, but I never really looked deeply into it. They have Hip-Hop and R&B as well.

Welp...I went and did it. I went and signed up for RamVideos VIP membership. I honestly don't think I got my $$$'s worth for the membership to be honest. As a result of this, my first way of contributing to the forum is to offer you guys access to what I have access to for music videos!

If there are any videos on either of these lists (list 1, list 2) that you are not able to download from their regular site without a membership then please just let me know by putting a request on [this] new thread.

*Note:
Sometimes it can take me up to one or two days before you get some sort of response but I'll try my best to get back to you. If you still don't hear from me then don't be offended because it probably just means I forgot to check the thread. In that case, just send me a PM and I'll be sure to get back to you. Priority will be given based on who posts a request on the thread first. So everybody will have to wait their turn. Please also be sure to give me some form of communicating to you (preferably MSN). I will NOT e-mail you the music video or the link because I am almost 100% that will not work out too well.

Wow, that's a lot of videos. Wish I had an indash player so I could put it to use. Why is it that you think you didn't get your money's worth? How much is their membership?

I paid $20USD for 3 months membership (it was their summer special) + $7 Euros for a 30-Day Rapidshare account but I didn't really see anything more that I really wanted out of those videos compared to what I could have got from them for free.

So apparently, I'm having trouble with some music videos that I've downloaded and tried to play on my car. Some of them play smoothly just fine, while others seem to be extremely choppy / "laggy" if you will. I'm not sure if it's because my unit in particular or if it's the compression that was used in those particular videos.

I initially ran the videos off of a USB drive (it was a high speed one too) and it was choppy. So I burned the videos onto a DVD and the results were the same. Those same videos would be really choppy regardless if it was played off of a USB drive or a DVD. I don't imagine it's my player because it can play some of the videos just fine. Can anybody help me out?

I'm running a JVC KW-NX7000 Double Din

How does it play on your computer? What program did you use to burn the videos on the DVD.

All the videos that were choppy / "laggy" in my car played just fine on my comptuer. Infact, I played those same choppy / "laggy" videos on two other computers and they ran real smooth as well. I used nero to burn the videos on the DVD.

Hmm, odd. I was going recommend using Nero to burn. Wish I had an indash so I could test it out and see if it was the video or HU.

Yeah another individual from another (local) car forum along with the support guy from ramvideos suggested me to try re-encoding the videos that are choppy / "laggy" to see if that will solve the problem.

The only thing is that I really don't know how to encode or which program to use exactly. I'm not very literat when it comes to these things. If you could point me in that right direction that would be great.

I'm also going to try and put the videos onto my ipod and play them off of my ipod and see if the same problem occurs. Also, I'm going to try and play these videos on an actual dvd player and see if I can replicate the same problem on the dvd player.

Did they say to re-encode them to a different format? I've used this one program. I just won't up and can't remember the name of it, it's something like MPEG Encoder, I think that's it but I can't remember the company. You would have to buy it though.
