left speaker

does anyone know why my left speaker keeps going off? Usually the music stops coming out when i start slowing down. i noticed that the volume was changing while i was driving but didnt think anything of it. then i figured out that half the time no sound is coming out of the left spaker and then all of a sudden my music is blasting when it starts working again. ive tried to work with the balance and all the audio settings but nothing seems to work. do you think my speaker is going? thanks!

Unfortunately it may your receiver. I took my 04 G35 sedan into the local car audio shop last night because I was having problems with my left side speakers. It turned out that the whole left channel on my receiver was going out. It was going to cost over $1500.00 + labor to replace the factory unit, so I figured it was a good time for an for an upgrade: double din dash conversion, Kenwood touch-screen receiver, replacing all stock speakers with Focals, and Dynamat in all four doors. I would get your car checked out by a good car audio tech. If it is your receiver you can better gear for the same money you would pay to have the stock unit replaced.
