Those links all point to the D3, not the Z3 the one the OP has.

Did they already knew exactly how to do the drive & play-dvd hack, or did you had to bring in some sort of DIY write-up? Is the DD kit that complete JDM kit (w/ the dual climate buttons) from Riverside Infiniti? Also what about the steering wheel buttons, they work?
well they do now! avic411 is a good resource for pioneer units. the dd kit had everything except the dual climate button - my installer had to custom add the dual climate button. and it was from performance nissan, but riverside infiniti sells the same thing for the same price - so get it from whoever has it at the time your ready to buy. as far as steering wheel buttons, take a look at my steering wheel in the first picture but yah, if you have stock steering wheel, there is something you can buy to retain those controls

haha i actually tried to get the D3! but everybody that is reputable is sold out since it is discontinued... but im really happy i spent the extra money and got the Z3.. the d3 requires you to take out whatever cd/dvd your listening to /watching and put in the navi disc if you want to make a route or look up an address.. z3 has all the navi on the hdd... not to mention it lets you store 10gigs of music on it as well..

call f1 and ask for chan... number is in the first post.. i called a bunch of places and f1 was not the most expensive, but not the cheapest either - but since i had dealt with them a couple years earlier for springs, and since other members of this board got their head units installed there, i knew they had the experience to deal with the dual button and do everything right, like hide the gps antenna, etc...

Ah! you changed out the steering wheel. Did you also install the bluetooth module? If so, where did they mount the mic?

i didn't get the bluetooth module cuz im not a fan of my phone convo's being broadcast for my passengers to hear, but the mic for voice recognition is in the upper left corner where the roof meets the pillar.. its non-intrusive... had i known there was going to be a mic i would have either asked for him to try and use the stock mic or maybe just forget voice recognition all together... but its alll good... who knows... maybe one day i'll want the voice recognition
