Re: sound setups
hmm, sounds good but they should take only 2 days to do that, especially if you say that they are good.
35 hours is a LONG time! A twin turbo or supercharger kit takes only 10 hours to install.
Guess what? They will need a new A/C controller from japan, from the jdm skyline... our A/C controller is integrated into the headunit's buttons, so if you remove your stock headunit, you will lose all A/C functionality. The A/C controller is $200.
I recommend that you purchase the double-din dash kit from Yoshitaka in Japan (www.j-garage.com) for around $380. It takes 3 weeks to come.
Most people charge $50/hr for installations.
So lets say your guy charges you $25 an hour, times 35
That means the cost of your installation will be $875.
It seems to me that they are backed-up and have ALOT of cars to do, that is why they want to take 7 days. Any professional installer can do what you want done in 2 days MAX.
But dont forget about that A/C controller. It is essential to your install and will set you back over $200

Re: sound setups
My system took 2 weeks to install...Granted it was just one man doing the install.
Assuming you are doing an entire system, then 1 week seems reasonable. You have to factor in other customers and issues that may arise.
Is this a competition system? Any plexi or fiberglass being used? Just curious.
Also, what is this install going to cost you, not including the equipment? Thanks.
Good luck with this install. Hope it turns out the way you want.
