I just wonder how good the laser jammer is and how it works. Radar is legal, but jammer is not. I have the V1 have thought about adding a jammer so when the radar reads it, I slow down fast as the jammer errors the gun out and turn off the jammer... so when he hits me again and gets a legal speed and rules out jamemr since it worked the second hit

it's not too bad priced... my V1 was like $400 and jammers I wanted run $800-1000.... If they want a guinea pig, I'll pay for it.. just not more than $800!

how do laser jammers and radars work? Like do they notify you before a speedtrap or something?

Anone jump in if I'm off.... but basically radar detectors will pick up a signal once it's emitted from the gun. X, K, Ka typically keep traces in the air and it will pick that up. Laser doesn't leave anything... but when the gun emits it, the dedector will pick it up but normally too late if po po is hitting you.

jammers work in two of the following, when the signal is emitted it picks up the signal and "alters" the signal when it goes back to the gun to A: show an error or B show a speed you have present depending on the jammer unit

so in short, radar detector let's you know what's there but the cop can still get a read on your speed. Jammer will show a false reading to the radar guns.

detectors are legal in most states.
jammers I do not no if there is a state they are legal in.

CA detectors are legal but jammers are not.

Radar jammers are illegal due to the FCC and the fact that you would be transmitting radio waves on a frequency you are not licensed to. The FCC does not control light waves however and laser jammers are legal as a result.

All speed guns send out a beam, like a flashlight in either the form of radar waves of varying frequency (X, K, Ka, etc), or a laser beam. When your radar detector is hit by one of these signals, it lights up.

The reason you can pick up radar more easily than laser is that the radar is not nearly as focused of a beam, and when it hits something, it bounces off in every direction with enough strength to travel to your detector. Laser must be carefully aimed just like a laser pointer and as a result, typically only the vehicle being hit by the laser is going to be able to pick up the laser "signal". All of these beams follow the laws of physics and travel in straight lines, it is the bounce off of other objects that helps you pick them up further off.

they have had laser jammers out for a while, beltronics i want to say has one as well as escort, the only problem is if u have one and they laser ur car it will give them a error, mainly saying "HEY I HAVE A JAMMER" they give different error codes, however u can toggle it as soon as it gets set off... as for radar detectors, some pick up the lasers BUT by the time it does your already pegged (i got pegged 600M away) by the time i was able to slow it was to late and my Escort didnt go off ... but ya check out radarroy.com he tests all the latest gadgets we can buy, hes an X officer.

http://www.radarbusters.com/laser-ja...rm25xtreme.cfm there u can get the blinder which is sopost to be 1 of the best still for 429
