Re: SPEAKER PROBLEM

Huh!? I can't understand a word. The left side speakers quit? Is that what you're saying?

Interesting, Got35....

Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but I have the same exact problem. Dealership said there is nothing wrong when they took a look at it.

I have checked the balance, fade and other variables. The left driver side speakers don't work.

If I brake extremely aggressively and turn the car hard to the right, I hear a "pop" noise, and the sound from the left side of the car comes back. After a few minutes of driving, the sounds on the left side of the car goes silent again.

Did you figure out the issue?

I've had this issue now for awhile. Check to see if it does it only when your playing CD or SAT, yet sound fine with AM/FM. It would only act up at times and the first few times I took it to the dealership, it would not act up. I ended getting it to act up and then they replaced my HU and it was fixed. I have had my HU replaced 3 times since due to the same problem.

It is a faulty output connection.

There is a ton of info on this site about this problem. Do a search. It is a common problem with the Bose HU. Faulty circuit board; take it to your dealer, covered by warranty.

I have had mine replaced twice by the dealer. I took it in, they diagnosed the problem, ordered the HU (arrived @2weeks after) and installed it. It's been 3 months with the new unit and so far so good. Here is a thread on this subject:

Left speaker problem

I came to see if anyone else had the same problem and WOW, it seems fairly common. Left speakers work fine on radio, but don't work on CD.

Dealer visit for me with print outs from these posts.

Smile No questions from dealer

Just phoned up the dealer to get an appointment and they didn't even question me. In fact they said that it was almost embarrasing how many people had problems with these head units.

happened to me once. They got me a new one. Note that you get a REFURBISHED one. So guess what? The problem came back to me. It's not worth taking the chance of having the dealership scratch my car so i decided to just leave it.. since fixing it obviously doesnt do anything but waste time.

I've been having this same problem recently.

I also took it the dealer, and whouldn't you know? It worked fine!

But based on what you folks are saying, they take the half-a$$ed approach to fixing it.

Well, I have uncovered that a good whack with the side of your fist to the side panel around the head unit (not too hard, mind you), knocks everything back into place.

Kinda annoying, but what you gonna do?
