Removing Door Panels and Top of Dash?

I am going to be tearing the interior apart this weekend and would like to have a good start on knowing what I am getting into..

I am going to be taking the door panels pretty much completely apart (at least 2-3 pieces if possible). And I am not too sure where to begin on those.

I am also going to be removing the top half of the dash... I've seen a couple write-ups on removing the center console and some panels, but nothing on the dash itself. I realize the the top half of the dash is pretty much the whole dash and the rest is made up of the 2 glove boxes and the vents.

Any help would be great.. I have browsed the top sticky topics in this forum about center console (center dash) and the rear deck area.

Thanks in advance.

Ah yes.. I definitely have already printed that one out, and actually skipped over the clock trim piece but I see it now.

From that point I am still not too sure where to go to get the rest of the dash out though.. It must just be pretty straight forward with the removal of a few bolts and the other vents. However I am pretty sure I have to remove the gauge cluster in the process and possibly drop the steering wheel as well.

And I am guessing the door panels are a couple screws and all the standard snaps/clips.

You should get the ESM (electronic service manual) since you seem like the Do-it-yourselfer type.... it comes in handy for such situations.

You can download the entire manual for about $20 from nissan's site. There are many threads around here regarding this near free download, considering the retail price of the cd is over $150.

Re: Removing Door Panels and Top of Dash?

Just curious - why are you wanting to tear off the entire front panel of the car??? Are you putting in a completely different fiberglass custom built panel or something?
