USA SPEC iPOD connectivity (help!)

I ordered the usa spec PA11 NIS part for my iPod , thinking i could set it up in the trunk, with the Sat prewire cable, in the trunk. I looked at it and it appears it is not compatible with the connectors on the USA SPEC unit. Could I be wrong? I resarched this for days and thought I made the right choice. Any advice? Is there any way to hook this up in the trunk, or do I have to tear apart the dash and do the whole radio head unit connection? I am Pis**d!

its suppose to be setup behind the dash, not in the trunk.
