Bluetooth kit for iPhone 3G

I've always enjoyed having Bluetooth handsfree in my cars, but the last kit I owned (Motorola HF850) did not work with the iPhone. Does anyone know of a Bluetooth handsfree kit that WILL work for the 3G iPhone?

I use the BlueAnt Supertooth 3. I have the iPhone 3G and it works just fine. You can't load the phonebook into the Supertooth but I think that is more an iPhone limitation than anything to do with the Supertooth. The sound quality is surprisingly good and it has noise cancellation for background noise. Their website is www.myblueant.com. I bought mine from www.mobilecityonline.com for about $80. Before I decided on that one I had tried out a few of the Parrot models at Circuit City and even the salesman there recommended against them, the audio quality was pretty bad.

That is pretty sweet, and it doesn't even have to be hard wired in like the Motorola one I had did. Thanks for the link and recommendation - maybe I'll get one for Christmas

It is very convenient. You just charge it like a cell phone and it comes with two visor clips and the speakerphone itself has magnets in it that hold it to the visor clip. That way you can leave the visor clips in two different vehicles and just move the speakerphone. I have also just brought it inside and sat it on my desk to use as a regular speakerphone if I get tired of holding my phone.

That is awesome. No other issues as far as using it with an iPhone though?

None at all. Just remember that some of the advanced features like voice dialing and storing the phone book and everything are limitations of the iPhone so you won't be able to use them. It's strange because my first gen iPhone would support the phone book transfer but the 3g versions do not. I don't think Apple has spent much development time on Bluetooth because it is not nearly as functional on the iPhones as it is on even more basic phones. And for anyone with the 3g who has upgraded to the 2.1 or 2.2 software are not able to use them any longer with many factory installed Bluetooth systems. It's strange because software version 2.0 worked fine but 2.1 or later has caused some problems.

Phone book transfer is no big deal to me. As long as I can answer calls in the car that is the main thing.
