IPOD : Cassette Adapter or FM Tuner?

Which would you prefer? So far i've been using a cassette adapter and it's been squeaking for a while, thinking about turning to a FM Tuner, what are the pro's and con's of both? Are the audio quality the same?

none of the above... USA Spec iPod adapter is the way to go.

order that. its the factory ipod integration unit from everythingg35.com. If your car is prewired then you just need to purchase and install this unit. Although you said you have an 03 model so I presume that you arent prewired for SAT....in that case, you need to purcahse the prewire harness as well. This unit will allow you to play your ipod through your stock HU. Search more in the audio/video section about it.... you'll learn a lot.

"Will this work with all model G35's?
– No, this model does not work with early 2003 G35 Sedans (production date before 09/02) as they are not satellite capable and 2007+ G35 Sedans that are equipped with Navigation and XM's Navtraffic."

I think I have a early model G35... how do I check to see the date of production on my car?

with a stock headunit you have 5 options:

1. Cassette tape adapter
2. FM transmitter

3. PAC (AAI-NIS2)
4. USA Spec (PAII-NIS)
5. Nissan iPod Interface Kit

i seperated the first two since they are worthless IMO. you need to go with something from #3-#5.

of those, they each have their distinct pros/cons, features and price. you'll have to do the research and decide which works best for you.

this is a VERY common question around here - and i recently had the same question a month or so ago when i was in your same situation and looking for a way to connect my iPod/iPhone to my 07 Coupe.

check out my site myG35mods.com for an Auxiliary Input Adapter Comparison Chart that highlights the specs of all of them to help with your decision.

let me know if you have any questions...good luck.

thanks for the help, but the problem is that i'm stuck with an early 03' w/o SAT and none of them are compatible with it.

I have a question though, can I swap the 03' bose headunit with an 04' and hookup an AUX adapter? Will the headunits fit perfectly?

i would assume so. can you get an 04 for free or something? if you're going to go to any expense you might as well do a DD

8/02...hmm that blows.

no worries, DD = Double DIN...a new headunit to replace your stock one. for example. could even do one with navigation. many have iPod connections built in. if you're willing to spend money this might be your best solution.

i'm on a stock Bose personally so i can't speak for which is best - but i'm sure many guys here could offer some input on good option/brands.

i'm about to replace it with an 04' Bose Head unit and hook it up with the AUX adapter, will all the steering wheel controls work fine with it? Does anyone else know if it will fit perfect?

to answer this cassette adapter ftw because if you think about people who are using FM transmitter are also using the same station beside you so you will hear alot of frequency and lose frequency when your under a bridge or tunnel where instead you can go having straight wire and listen directly to your mp3 =] nuff said
