Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

if the AVX 2494 is available and out then lets see a nice clear pic of one out of the box, then one on top of the same box, then one that will show the model # on the front of the unit.

Thanks

that is if it is out and available

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

I forgot to mention that IMO the AVN's picture is better than the Alpine's. The AVX is just in a completely different league than anything else on the market. Personally, after people see the AVN, they wonder why someone would want/need better and give up a great NAV system. Also, Eclipse warranties against dead pixels, while Alpine allows for up to three dead pixels before considered defective.

i hope that that was a mis-type when u said that the AVN has a better screen than the Alpine.(that is unless u meant the d300) there is no way on the planet earth that u can say that the AVN has a better pic than the d900 or d901. impossible and total CRAP!!!

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

We stock the AVX2404 and AVN2454. That is why I cannot do a group buy on the AVX2494 at this time. Just to lend credibility to who I am so that I don't have to prove anything. I am one of 20 people on Eclipse's Dealer Council. I am featured this month on the cover of Dealerscope Magazine at www.dealerscope.com. I have been on the cover of several other magazines and I write car audio articles for many magazines and my staff has built cars for people all over the world and you have seen them featured in the magazines. Our shop was also chosen as the single best mobile electronics store in the country and I have personally been on the TOP12 installers list 3 years in a row. You have probably bought products that I have had a hand in designing.

Do you still need more proof?

i was told by my Alpine rep that they say that the D900 and D901 will pass a High Def picture if you had the ability to send it a HD signal (like from a KVH Sat system that has the HD channel subscription). I have never seen it done but that is what i have been told from them. the D901 should ship in mid to late june

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

Firstly, I said "in my opinion". I like it better because it has, IMO, a warmer look to it. Secondly, I am comparing touch screen to touch screen, but I could see where my post could be confusing. I apologize.

I must mention though that the Eclipse is the only units I have ever seen that are touch screen but do not have the 'fuzzy/smeary' look of other touch screens such as the Alpine and Pioneer touch screens.

Also, I must mention that since these units have a ton of features, I find non-touchscreen units to be very hard and slow to operate. Some require a remote to do everything, which makes it worse.

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

i agreee totally that the Eclipse touch is alot nicer than any other out there, that thin plastic type piece that is over the actual screen is nice for not letting prints build up. i also agree about the ease of use but the alpine really isnt that hard maybe a little slower but not that much to fus about i think. i understand just a little miss-commu on the other post not a prob!! I wish they made the AVN w/the 1.15 million pix screen then it would be hands down the baddest sh@t out there NOOOOO DOUBT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

In my previous email I explained that we don't stock that model. We felt as though it would be a hard sell at the retail level for close to $3k and chose not to stock it and only get them in on a special order basis. If I had one, I would take a picture. We may decide to stock them because we have started to get more people asking to see them.

The 55090 is a good unit. It is probably one of the best they ever made. If you want to see a pic of the AVX2494, I can probably have one of my friends at Eclipse take a pic for you. Do you really want to see a pic or were you just being sarcastic? Also, I assume you know there are pics of the unit on their website?

Where are you a professional installer at?

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

I would like to apologize if anyone thought I was trying to brag. I just wanted to let people know what my opinions were based on. I know that when I am getting people's opinions, I like to know what their opinions are based on. The more experience and success they have, the more I give weight to their opinions, but please feel free to form your own opinion.

I guess what I am saying is that I would rather take Roger Penske's opinion on a car engine than the guys at my local k-mart automotive repair department. It just seems more logical.

Again, I apologize if anyone got the wrong idea.

Re: Headunit Help Alpine D901, Eclipse 2494, PioneerN1

i just wanted to see a pic of an actuall unit so i could see if they r actually shipping, like i said all people i have talked 2 have said that they r not here, not available, and possibly not shipping to the US. ( u r the only person who says anything other than that) so if i can get 1 I would be very interested.
I used to work for a place called Samm Sound(about 8 months ago i left) , but as u might or might not know, many people dont like or dont want 2 pay for custom work (2 many hak'um up shops around here) so in order to make a living i had 2 move on to kinda a large retail chain in FL called brandsmart. i swore i would never work at a place like that( a chain store) but down here if u wanna get paid u gotta swallow some pride. I have built cars for Polk, and Phoenix Gold most recently

No problem with listing credentials man and definetly no need 2 apologize. I would also much rather buy somthing from and expert than a guy just talkin 2 here himself talk.
