to it for installation accessories, call 813 850-5000

TIPS & SUGGESTIONS:
On this type of install, your best method
For affixing wire to wire, is to solder
and then use heat shrink tubing, always preferred
if at all possible. Can be wire wrapped and
crimped with black tape in most cases as well,
but if looking to do T TAPS then it may become
an issue if the cutting "teeth" of the T tap does
not make a solid connection.
You will always be second guessing those,
and also tend to expand and contract in
colder weather making them "if'y" for
this project.
Use the 2 first methods for
best results.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE WHEN INSTALLING
REMOTE START SYSTEMS!
If your vehicle is a standard transmission
it is strongly suggested that you do not
install a remote starter. We do not advise it,
or provide clutch bypass information to do it
as it is a liability for us to do so.
The following wires are normally required
to do remote start in any given vehicle.
To Test For These wires, use your multi-meter,
and probe for the following wires in your
vehicle's ignition wire harness behind
the key switch:
1-Starter Output This wire will test
0 volts in off, accessory and in the
ignition position. 12 volts during
start only.
2-Heat/Acc Output This wire will test
0 volts in the off position 12-
14 volts in the accessory and
run positions and 0 volts during start
3-Power Input 12 volts at ignition harness
or, from battery. Supplies power for the
ignition, and park light relays.
4-2nd Power Input 12 volt power at ignition
harness or, from battery. Supplies power
for accessory and start relays.
5-Ignition Output This wire will test
0 volts in the off and accessory
position 12 volts in the ignition,
start and run.
6-Output for 2nd Ignition, acc or starter wires.
Usually this wire is programmable and in is
an option. Most cars will have more then one
ignition wire to correctly energize
transmission modules, body control modules etc...

Please consult the notes included here for
your vehicle, to see if this applies to your
project PRIOR to installation of this wire!
FYI subject: DOOR TRIGGERS
Your vehicle has 1 type of door trigger
system. It may be negative, or positive,
and is usually the dome light wire as well.
BUT BE WARNED, DO NOT USE BOTH DOOR
POLARITY (-) (+) TRIGGER WIRES or,
you run the high risk of doing damage to
your alarm, or your vehicle's
dome light circuit.
If you look in the notes, we are telling
you which polarity in YOUR vehicle to use.
Please cut short and tape off the other
wire not being used here.
(TIP! If it's a Ford vehicle, yours is a
POSITIVE type of door trigger.
ALL others are negative type unless
otherwise noted.)
You may have more then one wire that needs
to be addressed to trigger the alarm when
any of the doors are opened, but they
will all be the same polarity. In this case,
you would need to diode isolate each wire
so that the alarm will recognize that door
when it opens.
!!DOME LIGHT SURVAILIENCE WARNING!!
If you have a wire marked for
"DOME LIGHT SURVALIENCE" or, "ILLUMINATION"
in the wire harness of your alarm system,
Your WILL need a 30 amp relay to make it
work in this vehicle! NO EXCEPTIONS!
Without it, if you were to attach this wire
to the dome light wire directly, with no relay,
you will blow the circuit board in your
car alarm system!
We strongly suggest you do not attach this
wire to any 1998+ vehicles at all, as it sends
a 30 amp charge for up to 30 seconds
into your vehicle's body control computer.
Newer car/truck computer systems do
not take this surge of power well at all.
Pass on this option if possible.
DONE!

DIFICULTY RATINGS:
1 STAR: THIS IS EASY STUFF.
2 STARS: REALLY NOT TOO BAD.
3 STARS: HAS A FEW ISSUES, BUT NOT TOO BAD.
4 STARS: THIS ONE IS HARDER THEN MOST! You Might Want Help.
5 STARS: WE RECOMMEND YOU GET A QUALIFIED
TECHNICIAN FOR THIS PROJECT!
This Project Is ALARMTEK Rated At: 3 STARS
* Always use a digital voltage meter to verify wires!
If you do not use a computer safe test probe in
todays complex vehicles, you can do serious damage
to the onboard computer system!

The FSM is the BEST wiring guide out there. I remember checking some of the wiring guides on the12volt.com along with some others and they all had some colors that were not quite right. The FSM was EXACT on all wires, along with locations and functionality. I even found a way to simplify the door triggers. With the FSM I found a way to connect a single wire for "door open" as opposed to diode isolating all 4 door pins and hooking it up that way. You can also hook up the window rollup/rolldown with no extra modules. This was on an installation of a Clifford 3.3X Alarm/Remote Start.
Sidenote: You can trust TroysG, he helped me out by email on my install, everything works great.
