Will I need a new battery cause of the system I want to get?

I'm thinking of getting any of these systems for my '08 G sedan but idk if I would need a new battery

1 15" RE SX with a Hifonics BXi1608D 1600 watts
RMS Power @ 4-Ohm: 550 W x 1
RMS Power @ 2-Ohm: 1100 W x 1
RMS Power @ 1-Ohm: 1600 W x 1

2 12" RE SX with a Hifonics BXi 2607D 2600 watts
Power @ 1 ohms: 2600 x 1
Power @ 2 ohms: 1700 x 1
Power @ 4 ohms: 850 x 1

would I need a new battery for any of these systems and are the amps good enough for the subs?

you will probably need a deep cycle battery and you MAY want to upgrade your alternator to keep up to the current demand

form wat ive learn from tech school....car battery only charged up to start up the starter motors to crank the engine... "alternator are the only one powering the vehicle after its been started"
changing better or bigger battery does not help...if your car is not generating enough power u needed ..u have to change ur alternator to a better one that generates enough power to charge the battery ..if not ur battery will die out sooner or later.." so changing battery will not help.
PS: check how much ur alternator generates then check how much ur systems needs..if ur system is powering more than the generateor..~u have to change it.not the battery.
someone correct me if im wrong.

what tech school did you go to?
yes pretty much everything runs off the alternator when the car is in motion OR when the car is OVER ~2000rpm (point at which the battery begins charging) if you've got a system like that, it has the possibility of causing a significant current drain. in which case the car is forced to draw the power from the battery AS WELL as the alternator.
Deep cycle batteries like the optima yellow top and the kinetik batteries (not the power cells) allow you to take the battery to low charge levels and bring them back up to their full charge capabilities unlike regular batteries where when they die once they are not able to achieve maximum reserve (sitting charge level could go from being 12.56 to 12.4 to 12.25 for every time you kill the battery by comparison with a deep cycle which will remain near 12.56 maximum sitting charge)

alright I'll see what's up when my guy installs everything. he also told me I would need a new battery since the stock one isn't all that good. how much do optimas usually go for? is kinetik better?

there's no voltmeter in the car. you can add one but it's not really necessary. it's pretty much a toss up as to which one is better. Kinetik has a better name right now though. the optimas had some issues a couple years ago.

well if you're going to be runnign the 2600 watt amp kinetik's calculator says put in 2 HC1400s one for the battery and one close to the system. but if you're going with the 1600 watt system it says go with the HC1800, so it depends on the system.

For the batteries I don't think you can really go wrong with Optima or Kinetik. As a matter of preference I have always used the Optima Yellow Tops in my audio applications.

For the 1600 watt setup:
I think you would be fine with a single of either deep cycle battery and the stock alternator. Keep in mind that your average current draw with that amp, assuming you run it at 1 Ohm, is going to be around 80 amps. When you run it at full blast you will draw more than that. Adding in the other electrical components of the car you will probably be reaching the capacity of the stock alternator.

For the 2600 watt setup:
You will want at least one deep cycle battery under the hood and probably a second one near the amps. You should also upgrade to a HO alternator. your average current draw at 1 Ohm is going to be around 125 amps.

I would look into a "Big 3" upgrade regardless of the setup you choose. It's one of the best, cheapest, and easiest car audio upgrades you can perform.

TLDR;
Either deep cycle battery is good.
Perform "Big 3" upgrade.
1600 watt setup: 1 battery, stock alternator. HO alternator recommended.
2600 watt setup: 2 batteries, HO alternator.

You will need a deep cycle under the hood and possibly one in the trunk. You may also need to upgrade your alternator. Adding more batteries isn't always the best route since the alternator keeps the batteries charged.

What I would do is:

1. Big 3
2. Odyssey battery (excellent daily batteries, I ran a PC 1200 and it outperformed a Kinetik HC 1400 with ease)
3. Around a 200A alternator (check www.mechman.com and www.qualitypowerauto.com)
4. An additional battery in the trunk (if going with the Odyssey then the PC 1700 would be enough probably)

If you go with 2 batteries, make sure they are the same brand. It's not great to mix them up.

yea set a 1 ohm then again I'm not gonna have it at full power to where it sets out 1600 watts, think that's a lil too much for the sub. I might get it set to like 1100-1200 at the most and I'm hardly gonna bump the system full power on like on freeways and maybe like when I'm out with friends weekends. During the week maybe halfway up and bass halfway cause no joke I see like 3 cops on the way to my school which like 2 blocks away lol. so I think I'm just gonna go with the optima yellow top and see how it works out

thanks for all the help guys!
