Considering a Viper 5900 Alarm

Anyone have this model? I'm thinking about buying it on craigslist locally and having mach III install it or something. I want an alarm that has a warning beep if someone touches the car or maybe its proximity? Do I need an add on for this feature? Also should I go with a lower model that doesn't have the full 2way picture transmitter or is the 5900 a good alarm system? I do not need a remote start but it seems that most of the new alarms come with them. What are everyone's thoughts? I just want to protect my car from thieves.

I don't believe the 5900 will do remote start on a manual however the newer models will I think it's the 5701. I'd have to look into it more thoroughly though.

I'd get an alarm first and foremost. I thought I lived in a good area, then I woke up to find my car gone from the driveway.

if you're going after an Alarm + install no starter, around here would cost low end of 500 cdn.
