Avic D3 Double Din Gap Trim Solution

Hey Guys,

I was able to produce trims that will help cover up gaps on some double din players. In this photo, I have the Pioneer Avic D3. There was an extremely ugly gap on top; but I have found the solution and now it looks clean!

If there is enough demand, I will produce more and sell these for $10 each shipped.

The trim will require some sanding depending on your install.

I currently have two on hand if anyone is interested. If you place an order with me, I can have them produced and shipped out within a few days. If your gap is bigger than the one shown in the picture, you must let me know otherwise I will send you the standard size.

Please email me at Heeroz@comcast.net if you are interested. Thanks.

Johnny La

Do you know how big the gap is for the f900? thats the one I'm thinking of getting, and would be more than willing to spill out 10 bucks for this

No I don't actually. Once you install it, just measure the gap and I can mail one to you that will fit. Thanks.

Hi I just had my Pioneer avic Z120bt installed with the JDM kit and have the same gap issue. Are you still taking orders?

Just pick up a scosche universal double din trim ring (linked in my double din shopping list), cut the top and bottom off it and glue in place:

Oh, and with mine, I only needed to put trim on the bottom side.

Thats interesting because I only have the gap on the top and I have practically the same head unit, Pioneer Z120BT. I'll have to make some adjustments to the screws on the radio I guess.

It's not much more work to do the top and bottom, just do the bottom first to account for the movement of the motorized face.

I'll buy one if you can trip the bottom better and paint it too.

No paint should be needed, and it's a simple 5-minute job with a razor blade and a glue gun. However, you need to be at the vehicle to set the proper height for the trim so that it doesn't get in the way of the movement of the face at all.

I'll probably end up doing this but I'm going to spray it in gloss black to match the Pioneer unit. Do you have any pictures of your set-up?

You don't need to paint it at all, and I don't currently have any pictures of the installed headunit. It looks pretty much like every other installed double din, so I only took pictures of stuff I didn't have pictures of already during my install.
