How do i get an additional speaker wire through the door? I have tried pushing it through the wire bundle but it gets stuck after about a foot and a half. Do i need to cut a hole in the gromet and leave the wire exposed, or is there a way to feed it through the existing tube?

 

IMO, the best way to connect to the door speakers is to just tap into the wiring harness behind the HU where the speaker outputs would normally be from the old HU. This way, you don't have to take off that rubber tube with all the wires and try to get it in there like that. Otherwise, you might even have to drill an extra hole if it doesn't fit. The wires behind the HU are already going out to the doors - you will just need to cut off the 2-wire harness in the door panel and hook up your speaker with different connections. There is no noise, and the work is cut in more than half, easy.

This also solves the problem with keeping your speaker wire on the opposite side of the car as your amp power wire. I have both of my front speaker wires going on the driver side (along with the interconnects & remote wire) and my power wire going down the passenger side.... otherwise, if you ran the speaker wire directly to the front door, it might be hard to avoid the power wire.

Typically you only want to keep your low level signal cables (interconnects) away from power wires. High level (speaker level) signals are not near as succeptible to noise. There are ways to get through the factory plastic plugs in the door, but they involve drilling holes through the plugs, something I am not willing to do.
