DLS or Boston?

Okay, I'm looking at a few sets of speakers for the ride and came across some that people gush over, but haven't ever heard. I'm a risk taker, but I wondered if there's any feedback from the pros here.

I'd had lots of Bostons, looking at the Pro60SE now. Heard them, crisp, bright, clean.

Other set on the list is DLS Ultimate UP6i, the ones people gush for. Well, all DLS seems to have the gush factor. Can't hear them in town unless someone in Tucson has em. Thoughts?

I vote you buy the DLS U6's sight un-... well, you know what I mean.

It seems like I am similar to you by being influenced by people's opinions on this message board.

So to assist that mindset, let me tell you: I bought these 3+ years ago for my G35 coupe off of eBay under identical circumstances as you, and hands down, they are the best sounding car speakers I have ever heard. PERIOD. I have been doing the aftermarket stereo deal since high school (that's a long time ago for me), and I have gone through the likes of all of the major brands.

I actually had Boston's in my prior car, and you can recognize the superiority of the DLS's instantly. You will not be disappointed on the UP6's!

I had the Boston Acoustics Pro60 SE they are great speaker but then I heard the UP6i and they reproduce music so much better. I am currently running a set of DLS Uridium 3 way and those bad boys are crazy. You can't go wrong with DLS and they can handle alot more power than stated.

Haven't heard either set, but I've owned the Boston Z6's and the DLS Iridiums. I liked the DLS much better, however, it is true what they say about DLS, which is that they have a warm sound to them. If you're looking for tons of midbass output, I would say go with the Boston's, otherwise, I'd take the DLS.

I know of an authorized online dealer for DLS, well, he's half owner of the site. Great guy as well. I forgot the website URL so if you want more info, PM me and I'll get you in touch.

DLS without a doubt. I'm no brand ***** but like was said previously, I've owned many other 'top' brands and DLS' are by far the best.

I have mine hooked up to a DLS amp and the sound is phenomenal.

I'm excited about the DLS for some reason. I auditioned the Bostons again with some of my music choices and there was something missing. Almost no warmth. Loved my Pro 6.5s, but it seems like they've lost a little something. Sounds like I may just take a chance and see how it goes.

I did listen to some Focals yesterday... Nice set to be sure.

I've heard great things about Seas, too. Tucson sucks for auditioning good brands. Only a couple audio stores with limited in stock selection.

I'm looking at spending around 4 hundito and the DLS do fit the bill nicely. Can't think of too many others in that range that do what I'd need. Listen to a lot of rock, some jazz, some old skool rap, classical.

I've been hearing some great things from a brand I never considered good in the mobile audio dept.... Pioneer. The TS-C720PRS get rave reviews for natural, deep sound and they're incredibly low-priced. Have not heard, but made me think twice.
