Ouch, I got nailed by a Highway Patrol on PCH via Radar Gun.
I was a sitting duck, so to speak.Since I was written up for 70 in a 65, I'm sure if I had a detector alerting me, I would of had time to drop 5 miles off my speed. The ticket will surely cost as much as the detector.
Now my question;
I have never owned a radar unit. I see by the prior posts many have them. Can someone give me a rundown on the models that work best & the pros/cons? I have a sedan if that matters. I also need to know where the best place is to install it. Are they legal in Calif.? Do I keep it on always or just when I hit the open Hwy? Do the cops frown on them if spotted?
I know, a lot of questions but I am ready to go out today & get one. Not much time to research so I am inquiring from my fellow G members.
