Hello all,

I've read through many threads and you guys have beautiful cars and audio systems. I'd like to add an amp for a sub keeping the Bose amp for the interior speakers and add a JLW6 possibly in a 4080 enclosure. I may venture into changing the HU if it's not too complicated (plug and play). What would be required to install an additional amp with the sub. Thanks in advance!

 

power wire, remote turn on wire, ground, amp, sub box, sub, RCAs. if you keep stock deck you'll need an LOC - (unless it's built into the amp in which case you won't needs RCAs).

LOC is a lil box that takes the single from speaker wire singles (high level) and reduces them to low level - usable for RCA inputs on most amps. you can get basic ones that will cost you like 10 bucks or you can get something like the MTX RE-Q, ~$80 or you can get a JL Cleansweep which is a couple hundred bucks. if you're only adding a sub best option is the RE-Q as it gives you the ability to adjust the signals going into the amp giving you more tuning options.
