PAC SWI-X Memory?

Do you have to reprogram it every time the batter gets disconnected?

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

I don't think so. There's no constant power wire (only a switched wire) so you're disconnecting power to it each time you take the key out.

no...

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

That thing was a bitch and a half to install properly. But once I got it, programming was pretty easy. Does your HU have a IR remote? Is it compatible with the swi-x? If you still can't program it, then it wasn't installed properly. If you need help, I can walk you through it.

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

A little off topic but, where do you guys have your led mounted? I'm still looking for a good place for mine. Leaning towards the map light area but also considering near the steering column or gear shift.

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

I haven't completed my install yet, but I noticed what a crappy angle range that thing has. I wanted it off to the side but no luck. I have a 6MT, so I think I am gonna have it in between the heated seat switches facing up.

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

I didn't have a problem when I shoved it in the sliding cup holder area. It depends on what center console you have. If its the 2003.5 and above 6MT, then the heated seat swithces are off to the side and will clear the shifter. If I put it in the map light area, I wouldn't have any place for the "black box" it comes with. I use my sunglass holder all the time. I should be done by this weekend, so I'll post pics when I get the chance of where mine is located and how well/poor it operates.

Re: PAC SWI-X Memory?

Grrrr... the range/angle on this thing blows. I now have a useless hole between my heated seat switches. It was way too inconsistent from there. Might work better in that location with a different HU. Plus the upward sloping console doesn't help matters. I really don't want to lose my sunglass holder, but I see no other choice.
