Looks like a more refined version of the Dension IceLINK. I would think Apple and BMW could come up with something a little better than playing fixed playlists and throwing the ipod into the glovebox.

yah that kinda sux... you cant even see what songs are playing and you can only have 5 playlists...

Seemed like a cool product... until I read the fine print:

"Not available on vehicles with navigation system, CD changer, DSP cassette player or satellite radio."

 

Not worth the trouble. Too many compromises for too little in return.

For just $200 more, you can get the Phatbox http://www.phatnoise.com/products/di...yers/index.php with voice prompts, a sophisticated search engine, plug and play into the stock head unit, and you can have all the playlists you want depending on media storage size.
