I'll always recommend the Zapco speakers. CK-16.2's what I had. I know people who have owned the line below and were pleased with them. For something more affordable, Image Dynamics has a good set. Crystal Mobile Sound has a kick *** set, but hard to find. Hertz Hi-Energy's are pretty decent IMO....just a few others that haven't been mentioned. I've heard some Helix comps and they weren't too shabby, heard a couple different sets of those and they each had a unique sound to them. I recommend just going and having a listen.

However, do not buy any speakers unless you plan to put an amp on them, otherwise, it's just a waste of money.

I got some Phoenix Gold RSD's last summer and they sound pretty good. Very inexpensive.

+1. My current plan is to get a set of these (RSd 65cs) along with sound deadening in the doors. I figure a less expensive set along with sound dampening will sound better than a more expensive set with no sound dampening.

Unfortunately us telling you which speakers sound the best isn't going to help you. Sound preference varies widely. What I like and sounds good to me may not sound good at all to you.

Depends on the speakers, but a 4 channel amp is what you will need.
