Good Speakers to buy?

Im interested in updating my speakers, but have 0 clue what to look for how much to spend.

Im looking for good quality (better than bose) and speakers that can go a little lower (not like, blast my ear drums loud, but a good volume for road trips). Also what size do you guys generally put in front and back?

Are speakers direct plug in? and i assume you have to remove the door panel to get to them? Any info would be great.

I used Kappa Perfects up front. Not a direct plug and play as you'll need a spacer and you'll need to wire your cross overs but close enough to plug and play. I've been very happy with these and it's been a year since I installed them.

lots of people have been dropping in either infinity's 6020cs or 60.9cs in the fronts as they can be direct replacements since they are 2-ohm - just like the stock bose. I'm looking into updating my speakers as well, and these are the two I'm deciding between.

changing your speakers is NOT going to change the overall volume, it's all about the amp. Do you have an aftermarket deck? amps? vital information before you go to the next step

Currently, i am running the stock, non bose, base model stuff.

But, i have a Alpine IVA-205 HU, a Hifonics BXi 608 Amp, and a Kicker 10" L5 sub sitting in my trunk awaiting installation this week.

focal FTW.
scored some components, easy install, sound took some getting used to. i was used to metal tweeters and silk was a big adjustment. people used to talk to me about the warmth and the brightness and i was clueless... i'd NEVER go back to metal now.

yeah, 6.5 for front, not sure about in the back but i THINK it's the same. if youre eliminating the stock setup, make sure to remove the sub, the hole it leaves makes a huge difference in how much sound gets up to you.

go out and take a listen

all speakers sound diffrant

I myself like CDT, some people dont

The bad part is that even if the mids you listen to sound awesome in the room....they may not sound as great in the car.
Get a good/great quality amp
