So Confused about Upgrading speakers HELP

so I've been reading, reading and some more reading on how to upgrade my 07 coupe Bose system. From the info i got the two speakers in the front (door and tweeters) must be replaced. But i kept on reading and now people are saying an amp is needed as well. So....what do i really need to upgrade to improve my speakers....my budget is around 4-500 bucks(if necessary + a little is ok)... I really don't want to add a sub just because of space....what do i really really need to upgrade to achieve the best sound. Also please lists what kind brand model etc...im not too familir with speakers.
I thought upgrading the two front speakers would be enough (wanted polks mm) but now i am totally lost on what i need to do in order to make everything work. Please help.

400-500 bucks will be tough to notice any sound quality difference. you DEFINTELy need an amp to power these new speakers, i like alpine. infinity makes great speakers, as does focal. i would go to a local audio shop and listen to and browse for a setup within ur budget, and ask for help.

If I had a budget of 400-500 I would get this:
Elemental designs nine.4 135 shipped
4 gauge amp kit knukoncepts and rcas around 40 shipped
LOC from any company 10-20 shipped
I would get some pg rsd for 90 shipped or some pioneer premier ts-c720prs for 250 shipped
That leaves you at either 285 or 445.
I would leave the rears connected to the bose amp but you could buy some new rear speakers. A lot of people on here like the infinitys because they come in 2ohm but I have personally never been impressed with them and wouldn't recommend them. Either one of the configurations I gave you above will be a huge improvement. If you have extra money I would also deaden the doors because they helped a lot with my midbass response and my doors dont rattle at all.

I agree with Chord. go to a couple local stereo shops. pay no attention to the prices, if they're listed on the speakers, turn your back and have the sales team demo the speakers for you with music you like. listen for the highs because you don't want ear piercing. but you don't want it sounding muddy either.
If you are going to get components, I strong suggest just a small basic 2 channel amp. an 80 watt by 2 channel should work well for you
