Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

hmmmmm...guess it depends on how you want it to lQQk, if you dont mind the deck sticking out 4~6 inchs! and lid wont close? I'd say around 200~ish, but if you want it to lQQk like this? https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part= it will cost you around 1200!!!, but i think it can be lil lower tho, but it will be lot less if you go double din route.

yah not worth it, go with the double-din route, you wont need the factory radio once you have an aftermarket radio.... doesnt make sense to have 2 radios in 1 car...does it?

Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

also, if you fabricate in the stock navi cubby, you have to CUT INTO the AC venting conduit (the conduit that supplies AC to the dash's outer vents) behind the cubby to fit a 6 7/8" deep deck. Even if you do this, the deck still sticks out an 1" or so and IMO looks a little odd to have a nice aftermarket HU with the fugly stock Bose radio controls with the tape deck slot.

Spend the ~$400 and do the doubleDIN conversion, it looks more stock too.

Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

huh????????

if you JUST want nav, go with the garmin or other GPS nav......cheaper, portable, dash mounted....same solution.

Don't just get the avic n1 for navi.....please say you're getting it for the DVD, navi, car systems dynamic monitoring and other cool stuff. Why spend $1800 for just primarily nav?

As for the steering wheel controls, well you can install the PAC SWI-X.....

Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

i agree, if you just want a good Nav unit, i would go with either that new magellan or the garmin car unit or garmin pda

the avic-n1 has a decent nav system but its not as good/accurate as a garmin unit.

Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

heres my nav without having to do a double din or custom dash. i ordered the stock nav bracket from grubbs infiniti and then i put the alpine nav-200 system into it.

Re: Pioneer AVIC-N1 install

i want the system primarily for the navi, i also want all of the other video options, i dont really care about the audio stuff, the magellan looks like poop even though the navi system may work a lot better
