Running speaker wire

Well I got my mids apadpter made and was ready to install my CDT set up and post pics......but I cant figure out how to run speaker wire into the cabin of the car.

I can easily see how to run wire to the door, but I cant get in the cabin.

It looks as if there is a lock or something plastic that I cant get though.

Anyone have tips or tricks?

Its an 04 sedan

I have the wire ran all the way from the trunk to the front.....I just need to get the wire to the crossover

I drilled a hole only big enough for the speakerwire and sealed it with silicon afterwards

Wow that's pretty brave. Any pics or any tips about where you drilled?
I was looking but didn't find a good spot to drill alot of wires running near the fuse box.

The prevailing option is removing the molex connectors and drilling them. I'm going to be doing that next weekend, god help me. I ordered bi-amp wiring from knuconceptz to make things easier. There's a DIY somewhere

I drilled the molex connectors and trust me it takes a lot of patience. If you are comfortable I would go with drilling a hole. I wanted everything to be hidden so i put i through the molex.

I've done it on countless cars, I feel safer drilling through metal that I can feel both ends than I do a molex plug myself.

so about where do you drill?

say about 4' from the molex?

I looked on the inside of the cabin and its tight in there, I dont want to pierce any wires while drilling

depends on the setup. I've got perfect installer hands strong and small so I was able to reach around and find a spot that had no wires or anything - so it was pretty much just a pocket of wasted space. But I had to move a module and remove some plastic in order to get in there to inspect. Take your time and don't rush it. That's when you make mistakes. I'll take a look at my coupe tonight and measure how far from the molex plug I went

Troy, did you cover your wires in loom or techflex or anything to protect them? The bi-amp cable I have is insanely thick so the molex option might not work for me

I've used the drill method. Not too difficult, just have to be patient.

I'm looking to do the drill method on the drivers side car side. Where can you drill with all those wires and fuse box? The mini grommet solution didn't pay off on that side, sadly...

blazeplacid I do not recommend wasting your time with the molex connector.

I did it took 10 hours for 1 door (partially my fault) so I went to an audio installer he did it in half an hour cost me 25 in labor.

Drill Wow, i swapped out all my speakers i would say remove the backseat there a small space on the passenger side you will need an extra set of hands to pass the wires once you find it but its there
