OEM Navigation wiring problems

Guys, I am trying to install a OEM navigation for my 2003 sedan

I don't know if I am doing something wrong in the wiring

I am looking at the service manual.. and there are some questions i have.. please help

my monitor doesn't even turn on !!

on the page AV-NAVI-03
Display unit M35, what is wire 16? color SB? what does IGN SIG mean??
also what does RGB SYNC (wire 7) mean? also YS (wire 8) ? NAVI-DISP (RX) (wire 14)?

navi switch M37, wire 2 and 3 goes to LT-ILL, what is LT-ILL??

your help is greatly appreciated

Thanks !

RGB sync is red green blue signal (basically picture)
navi disp (rx) - rx usually stands for recieve
LT-ILL - sounds to me like it would be light illumination (parking lights)
haven't a clue what Y is - it may have something to do with picture as well

IGN Sig means ignition signal. This is the wire that needs to be connected so that when the car is turned on the signal given from the ignition tells the Navi to turn on.

then is IGN Sig should be connected to ACC from the car??

also RGB sync, what's the difference to this and the separate wires for each color?

LT-ILL, i do believe this is to be connected to the ILL from the car as well? but it has positive and negative.. how does this work?

thanks guys

I'm guessing about RGB based on the name.
I would assume illumination would be the same polarity as what's at the the switch which I believe is +12

thanks guys...

Hi-Tech_G, i love the thread in your signature ! LOL !

Oh, if i have connected the ground, battery, acc, for both the navi switch and the display, this should get my monitor to at least turn on once my car is on, right?

also, how would i be able to hook up a reverse camera if my car didn't come with this option??

dunno... research that more and let us know how you do it... because at that point we should be able to hook a dvd player to it on the same principle.

if i just tap the wires into the bose speakers wires.. that means i will be using the DVD player to push the speakers? not the OEM BOSE??

i think i find the interrupt, that should be the wire where the NAVI sends an ON signal to the audio unit... sounds right?
