Antenna Reception is Poor

I just purchased my first G35 (2003 Sedan) and love everything about it except the fact the radio antenna reception is terrible.

First, let me state that I've done some searching on this forum and found mixed solutions on how to fix this issue.

The CD player, Tape player and all HVAC functions fine. The only issue is the radio, I get only 1 station and that's if I'm lucky.

Before I attempt to take the radio out and check the antenna connections, Is there anything else I should check? I read about an antenna amplifier, Where is this located on the 2003 G35 Sedan and what are the chances that's the issue?

There are antenna amplifiers from ebay, they helped with my other cars but I know I will need about 3 adapters to make this work and I wanted to ask before trying that.

There is an antenna booster in the C pillar on the driver's side.
