Need Help with Audio 07 Sedan
Ok, here's the deal. I have a 2007 Sedan with Bose. I'm looking to add either 1 10W6v2, or 2 10W6v2's. I keep hearing mixed thoughts on them (as far as being too loud and what not). Some say that 1 is all you will ever need, others say that it's not enough. I don't want to go deaf, but I do want it to thump.
I'm thinking that no matter which setup I go with, it's going to drown out the factory Bose system. That being the case, has anyone replaced all the factory speakers? If so, what did you replace them with? From my understanding, these are the sizes for the speakers. There is a total of 10 of them.
Center Channel - 5.25"
Tweeters - 1"
Mids - 3"
Front Woofers - 10"
Rear Doors - 6.5"
Rear Subwoofer - 10"
Here is what I'm thinking. 2 10W6v2's in the trunk, powered by a 2 500/1v2's. I would run a 1000/1v2 but if I'm thinking correctly wouldnt I have to run the subs in series to get that to work? I would be having a box in the rear of the trunk made for these (Should I go sealed or ported). Also I'm still debating on placement of the amps. Would being mounted to the back of the box or in the spare tire slot be better? Which spot has the closest "good" ground?
I would have JL VR650-CSi's for the front doors (I would place them in the factory 10" woofer slot). 2 VR650-CXi's for the rear doors. These would be powered by a JL 300/4v2 amp. I have also heard mixed feelings on Caps. Should you or shouldn't you use a cap?
I don't have the factory Nav system. My plans for it will be replacing the screen with a Kenwood KS-L702, and running a Kenwood KOS-V1000 Processor and Kenwood KNA-G510 Nav Unit and a Kenwood KCA-iP500 Ipod kit to it. Of course all of the components will then run off of the KOS-V1000.
Some of these questions I would be able to answer myself if I were with my car, but I'm in Iraq right now and have been for almost 3 yrs. I still have about 2 more left, and my car is back in the states. I'm just trying to have everything together so it will be ready once I get back home.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
