Audio problems in 2004 G35x.

Hey, I bought this 2004 G35x and i hae been havin trouble with the audio. Sometimes when i am driving, all the speakers will be producing sound, but most of the time only the speakers on the right side will produce sound. I can still hear the left side but it is really, really faint. When i brake or hit a bump in the road, thats when i usually lose the sound to the left side. Another thing is when i accelerate, the audio gets louder and when i brake, it quiets down alot. Any help is appreciated. and one other thing, it only happens when I play CDs. SAT radio and AM/FM radio work fine.

Same thing just happened to me. I just ordered the ipod integration kit that connects thru the SAT function. I'm currently only having a problem with the CD function doing the fading/balance thing. This seems to be a pretty common problem in g35s. If you're under warranty, just take it to the dealership and they'll fix it. If you're not under warranty......welcome to my world. If you find an answer, PM me, and I'll do the same if I hear anything.

I'm going to install the ipod kit in the next week and I'll let you know if that fixes the problem.

Eh sometimes my audio cuts out completely where theres no sound/static/nothing coming out of the speakers. This only happened 3 times to me and after about 10 mins of driving the car w/o sound I would park and let it sit for 5 mins and turn it on again. The audio comes back no problem. But i never had a problem with it fading or balancing. It shows the song playing but no audio. not for the cd or radio.. just silence.

2003-2004s have problems with the head unit. Although it says BOSE its actually made by clarion. It sucks. Go aftermarket (double din upgrade) and things will be much better.

The audio level going up is a setting on the radio. That part is normal.

How do you change that setting on the radio?

SMACK the left side of the center console right by the ash tray/tape player to get the sound working from all speakers when you are driving.

I think its the SVS button.. the last button to the right. Either does low high or off.. meaning if the outside noise is louder, the audio will get louder as well.

BOSE is garbage system in our cars, i recommend replacing everything if you can afford it. The main problems with this might be the headunit or the actual circuit board.

I dont think its exactly garbage, but def. not the best nor what should come in an infiniti, but your right, def. the headunit or the circuit board.

Seems like AceG35X was right in my case. I turned off the SCV function and I haven't had the problem since. If you have an 03-04, press the audio button 4-5 times and the SCV function will come up. Change it to OFF. It worked for me and I haven't had any problems for 2 days now.

Thanks AceG35X
