Basically.....I'm new to all of this but i have a few questions.

Would there be any possible way to use a stock NAV unit system as a touch screen system for the head unit?

In other words....convert the NAV system to an actual touch screen head unit. Are there any programs for this? and about how much would this all cost?

A friend of mine used to have this done in his IS300 but i haven't ran into him in a while to ask him about this install.

 

No its not easily possible. The only way I could think of doing it would be to install a computer to process the touch screen input and provide a display output which would require replacing the NAV screen and even if your willing to do this and install a computer, you would still have the problem of controlling the stock radio from it. It would be easier and cheaper to just install a whole new head unit with a screen on it.
