Metra has a black one but most don't recommend them. You can get the JDM one for a better fit and finish but unsure about the dual climate control button (need to add that I think).

Metra is fine, my buttons are just blinking randomly. Metra provided me with a nice light show =)

WEll I pulled mine out and I'm tryin to figure out whether the stock A/C control will work withou the bose soundsystem? Because I have a good friend of mine who could just convert my dash without the dash kit....I just need to know whether or not I would need a different A/c control...and I would need a wiring diagramm for the stock systerm so I know where to splice my cords...

this is the wrong section for those questions... but fwiw, metra = fail

i bought it and it looked cheap and i resold it on ebay, got a silver jdm... which i actually think looks good, it creates a match since i had the silver around the shifter anyways. if i had a complete wood trim pack THEN id be effed.

just my .02

So where does this section go? and does the A/C control work by itself without the bose Sound system? I took mine out and it dind't work...idk why...and since everything is back in my car beeps when I turn it on...like a weird beep tone...maybe cause it's "Cd err fo"?

uhhh idk, maybe the audio video section? the install in the coupe and the sedan. there is no reason to have this thread here. i would also check out the diy sections, there is a very detailed breakdown on the install there.

further, the ac control is intgrated with the bose and cannot work without it without significant modification to the board. and the error youre getting now makes me think that your bose is bricked.

What is the diy section? And what do you mean by bricked? Can I get A/C controls seperate? without the integration to the Bose soundsystem?

the vic, there is a japan website that sells the black jdm finisher... you are unlikely to find a US seller for it... you will need to buy a new AC controller as well... if you have dual climate control you will have to solder the button in.
the AC controller can probably be found cheapest from riverside infiniti on this forum... probably like $170-180
i dont remember how much i paid for the black finisher.. like $150 i think... took like a month (i think) to ship from japan
i no longer know the japan site... ask around the forum for japan sales sites, someone will know the one you need.

Try looking for yoshis garage. I don't know the site, and I felt that there was too much room to be ripped off, so I can't vouch, but they(he?) Does advertise it.

the metra kit comes with a replacement climate control panel that needs no extra wiring and has the plug that the stock climate control panel does

i don't believe you can use the stock one without the bose sound system in because they are on the same circuit board so it would pretty much be impossible (thats what he meant by bricked i believe)

wtf is the problem with the metra kit people?
its all supported from the back once installed and is very solid
i've also had no problems whatsoever with the dual climate control working
its flawless as far as i'm concerned
and a very easy install as long as you take your time and don't get frustrated

its a very complex dash and it must all be taken apart in a particular order

Go back and re-read our posts. No one said the metra kit wasn't well made, its great for what it is, the rubber ac controls just look cheap.

It's just not as nice as the OEM kit.
