to those of you with upgraded stereos (sub,AMP)??
to those of you with upgraded stereos (sub,AMP)??
first of all this car is the nicest thing i have ever owned. i just hooked up a basic small mtx amp and 12" sub. its not turned up by any means. i just wanted a good quality sounding base that the factory bose doesnt have in my ears. there is some slight shaking in the car. is this harmful? and have any of you had anything rattle loose or just cause an annoying rattle on down the line? ni dont have one now, I just dont want things falling apart inside the car for me.
Second does anybody have any recomendations on a different way or setup of getting a fair more ammount of base through the bose factory (smaller sub, cannon, a certain box). i have my amp hard wired through the rear speakers now and it sounds good but still a little powerful to me. and when i turn it down it just sound like a weak tired base.
sorry for rambling. hope somebody may have a suggestion here

As far as rambling goes I have my trunk area dynamatted well not actually dynamat but a different brand of it. So far it did what it was suppose 2 do but there is still a small rattle in my trunk area because of the factory spoiler I had put on so there is a small buzz on that. As far as the stereo goes I replaced all the factory stuff (check the sig.) the bose is good and what not but having an aftermarket is ssooo much better and u can definitely tell the difference. I love driving around town with a clean car and a badass system 2 match talk about head turning... Oh yes it's me bitches
put in a small 10" sub with a 4080 box, or a 4080 style box which is what i did. a simple 10w3 is plenty of bass for my tastes, and thats coming from my old car which had a 12" type r ported with a 2.3 cubic foot enclosure (that slammed).
so what you're saying - if I interpretted this correctly - you had it turned up but there was too much but then you turned it down and there was too little?
What you should do is set your amp's crossover (LP - low pass) to about 80hz. initially put the amp at a low gain, get a song you're VERY familiar with and put it on repeat. keep turning up the gain until the bass sounds good. After that, listen to a variety of songs, and tune to what sounds good over the variety of songs. This should help with the too much/too little problem.
As for setups - it depends on what you're looking for. I personally have a 4080 box, JL 10" W6 with a Focal monoblock amp powering it. The bass is a little boomy at times. but it gets the job done. - It really comes down to what you want your system to do for you - be flashy, loud, be a filler for the existing system, take up a lot of space in your trunk, take up almost no space. I think you get the picture.
