04 G35 Bose Radio acting really weird

Ok I did a search and found nothing.

I just bought my g35 a few weeks ago and I just noticed this. (its sad, i know)

The screen where the stations are displayed flickers sometimes. The quality of the sound coming out of the speakers when I am using my Ipod through Cassette and Radio is fine. The only problem I get with the Bose system is when I play CDs.

When I brake, my driver side speakers would mysteriously go out. When I accelerate, it will go back to normal. Sometimes it still goes out and then back to normal when Im just cruising

Is there something wrong with my Headunit or electricals? I wouldnt think the speakers are defective because they work fine with Radio and Ipod....

Tony at riverside is quoting me 500 for a refurbished unit with core swap.

Sigh... I have 3rd party warranty... you think they can cover this problem?

Help!

hey Mike, i think im going to check on the headunit when I install the USA SPEC unit. Thanks again for the recommendation.

You guys think the dealer service dept will repair it with my 3rd party warranty coverage?

yea, take a good look around when you put that in. if you can see a pattern depending on acceleration vs deceleration, sounds like a wire to me

I have the exact same problem that just popped up on my 2004 Coupe. Both drivers side front speakers go out when I brake or hit a bump - but it only occurs with a CD playing...With the radio everything is fine. Must be a wiring issue I would guess.. I am hesitant to take it anywhere to fix..would like to keep costs down..

WTFisJuice - Did you make any headway on your issue?

Thanks.

It's a HU issue. Try to get it fixed under the extended warranty before adding the USASpec ipod adapter or they will likely blame that for the problem.

same here, i was out of town for 10 days and never noticed the issue. got back and its really annoying. with the CD player ONLY the front right speaker works... with the radio everything BUT that speaker works WTF? anyone have any insight on this? is it the actual head unit? its defiantly a wiring issue but who has had this fixed? does it cost an arm and a leg for the dealer to fix?
