Avelectronics Installation

I am looking to install the navigation video switcher, and I was wondering how difficult it is to put in. Is it something that shouldnt be to difficult for someone who knows how to cut a few wires? If i do need to get it professionally installed, what kind of price should i be looking for, because i've heard some pretty outrageous numbers.... Thanks for any help.

Re: Avelectronics Installation

Hey man if you are still thinking of installing the AVelectronics box let me know and I will tell you the best way to do it. I did mine myself and it is somewhat easy if you know what you are doing. Also where do you live? If you live close enough by I would be more than happy to show you how to do it. It is always easier a second time around.

Re: Avelectronics Installation

I too have installed my own unit last year and have sold many many of the kits as well... Any questions, just let me know... I can try and help out as much as I can.

FYI - AV Elecontric's kit only requires the cutting of one wire. The others are simply 'plug/play'. It's really a matter of accessing the wires, connecting the harnesses, getting power and switching it on.

Re: Avelectronics Installation

I seel my unit for $200

OUR MODULES
Powder Coated Black Aluminum Case (No RF interference (engine noise) with a metal case.)
No Moving Parts! All Solid State. (No relays, video can't jump the air gap in the relay and cause cross modulation.)
Not a "hobby kit". (No messy wires in the inside. You don't have to worry about wires falling off.)
1 Year NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRANTY. (If the unit should fail at anytime within 1 year, it's replaced free of charge!)
Picture Quality is like HDTV!

THE COMPETITION
Plastic Case (You see engine noise in the picture).
Relays (Video jumps air gap and causes cross modulation in the video)
What a mess!!! Wires all over waiting to fall off. A kit that someone put together in their basement. Not a professional product.
Warranty??? Who knows they never say....
Picture quality good at best. With all the wires all over there is a high signal loss which degrades the video.

Re: Avelectronics Installation

I don't see much quality in any of those pictures. What is that relay in the G35 picture for? Is there a case for that bare circuit board from http://www.converters.tv/products/co...erters/43.html ?
Do you have to cut all the wires on the system you install? Can you have a backup camera turn on automatic with reverse and have a dvd input? Do you wrap and tape the wires or solder and heat shrink?

Re: Avelectronics Installation

the relay was for something else, we don'y use that board no more, we use a new board that I have designed, firs two pictures, you have to splice 4 wires for install, I solder then ofcourse heatshrink and then put tape on top, because I dont really trust heat shrink alone.
