ZEnclosure Issues

I brought my G to a installation shop today and the installer told me that it is not a good idea to install my 2 10" JL 10W6v2 into the ZEnclosure because it was too small and will not allow enough breathing room for the subs. Has anyone encountered any problems with this setup at all?

Since are trunks are so small its really hard to get a good sound setup specially with big subs in the back unless you start going into custom boxes or mods. If you really want the Zenclosure try a different shop see if they can do it for you.

I have an enclosure much like the Zens designed for the G and they are NOT designed for 2 subs regardless of how many holes they put in it. I have one 10 in .8cf with some polyfil and it's perfect. You need a much bigger enclosure for those subs.

If other people that have tried to do what you are doing havent ran in to the same problem then the shop is just out to take their money. The zenenclosure only has .7cu ft in it and your 10w6 wants at least .625cu ft each. you should just stick with 1x10w6. jsut because you have 2 subs doesnt mean it will sound better. 1x10w6 in a good enclosure will hit harder and deeper then 2x10w6 in a crappy enclosure.

if you really want both subs...there is some company that makes an enclosure for our Gs that will fit both for around $300-400 i think. it takes up most of the trunk though. do some searches...im sure youll find it.

I wanted the 2 10" zenclosure for my coupe, but I ended up getting the 1 12" zenclosure, because the 2 10" box is way too small and there is not enough air space for 2 subs. The best thing to do in your case is to seal off one side of it, so its a 1 10" box.

the .7 is on the smaller end of sealed boxes but should work ok

Worst case is you let them install it and if it doesnt sound the way you want it to take it out

.7 total for both subs, not each. DO NOT install 2 of them in that enclosure. you could damage your subs and they wont perform as intended. why spend the money on your audio equipment to make them sound like crap? either buy a new enclosure or seal off 1 side and use only 1 sub.

.7 FOR BOTH?!

thats tiny

thats like putting a kids shoe on a grown man

you will need some shallow mount subs or ID Q's, something that will take a .35 box

Zenclosures are awful for our coupes. They produce the worst quality sound I've ever heard. I have a JLW7 and the potential for the size of the box is so much greater than the sound it actually produces. There are several things they could do differently to make the sound better, but they don't put the time to design their box's for sound. What I have found is that Zenclosures designs their box's for your car and for whatever sub you have to fit....they don't consider what sound it will produce
