dont think you can be speeding just cuz you got a x50

I have one and was busted

it does work very well from far distances...ive picked up cops from over a mile
it does pick up alot of false alarms, to help with this put it on city mode.

if a cop is using instant on, your done
laser - no chance
pop - no chance

if a cop is radaring from down the road it will pick him up and it will work great for that

cops are alot smarter and know people have radar detectors so they have come up with new methods

be careful

my friend has the cordless X50 and uses it daily. I think he gets at least 6 months out of the batteries. It all depends on what kind of batteries you put in. Using 89 cent ALDI brand batteries vs. something like Energizer E2 Lithium batteries will make a huge difference.

no more than a few bucks for the suction cups from escort...you might even be able to make a generic set from homedepot or similar place work. I had the solos S1 years ago and was very happy with it. It did act up at times when using it without the cord. I have the 8500 that I've used for the past 5yrs and it's been great. I never rely on it, but it's nice to have when doing a lot of hwy driving.

Dont get a cordless detector there is just no way a detector can perform the same cordless that it can with a hardwire power source. The 8500 is a fine detector but after getting a v1 i wont go back to anything else

Just look at the 35.5 range on a solo 2 and you will see the kind of sacrifices you are making

I use a mikes mount since i was tired of the suction cups failing but if you want another option try using that 3m dual lock. Its like a plastic velcro of sorts and you can permanently mount it and not worry about temperature shifts

EDIT Forgot to add
If you are looking for a quality lesser expensive radar detector i suggest you look at the whistlers the new ones are actually very capable detectors and for the price they cant be beat.
Here is a review with some videos

^Thanks for everything, and i understand that cordless prolly isnt the best, i mean it comes with a cord and all. Only reason im considering this is because its only 90$ and because im only 17 and dont have money to drop on a top of the line one.

Also found the mount for it, only costs a dollar plus a dollar for suction cups haha

Thanks all for the help, im gona try it out for a day just to see if everything works, any problems i should look out for?
