Question about radar detector

Ok so one of my friends said he is selling his radar detector.
I asked for all the details he said its a Escost X50 and hes selling for 90$.
I'm only 17 so im not looking for the best top of the line 700$ detector. I need something that is pretty decent.

So what do you think about the escort X50? Im new to detectors so i know absolutly nothing about them. And is 50$ a good price for this?

That's a great detector for that price. Up until about a year ago it was Escorts top of the line model. I say go for it.

V1 is $400. Escort Passport 9500 is $500. I think $700 is a little steep for a radar. You could get a jammer around that price point.

Thats a tough one. I've heard bad things...or at least not so good things about cordless versus corded detectors of any brand. I hope someone who owns one or has used one can chime in here since I don't have direct experience.
Personally...for an escort, thats still a good price. They are still a good brand even if that model isn't the best in their line. Would I take a 90 bone escort over a...say 150 bone cobra... I'm pretty sure I would.
I highly suggest you Google that model and read reviews and comparisons- it'll be the best way to educate yourself on this one.

It still come with a cord to plug in but if you want to just go cordless. Also the kid lost the sucktioncup mount, so id have to buy a new one so maybe i can talk him down a little since he dont have it.

good deal for an X50. They are good radars, but obviously a radar doesnt = invincible to cops. Hard wire it to back of the mirror if you have the homelink mirror.

Ok so i just read some reviews and people are sayying that this is the best cordless out there. They say that its got a good range but of course not like some of the top line radars. Also some people mentioned the batteries dieing fast while others said its lasted them VERy long, but the batterys is the last of my problems
