1) consider a headunit other than the f90bt
2) PAC-audio steering control
3) Metra 7551 (if you end up sticking with the f90bt)
4) soldering iron, solder, electric tape or heat shrink tubing
5) six-pack of yer favvy alcoholic beverage
6) Nissan antenna adapter
7) Scosche trim ring
8) drill, extra long screws to replace the shorter screws that come with the Pio unit

I installed my microphone in the CARDHOLDER on the driver's side above the window -- the bluetooth clarity was PERFECT. I purchased a rubber grommet the diameter (inner) of the microphone to attach it to the cardholder and used epoxy to adhere the grommet to the cardholder.

I basically did the same install you're about to embark on -- then decided the f90bt is WWWAAAY too buggy, and ended up with the Kenwood 8120 and absolutely love it

Oh -- and MAKE SURE you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery or you might fry your A/C controller on the ddin finisher you just bought

thanks for all the info!!!

the reason im thinking about the f90bt is because 90% of the time im in my car, i listen to my radio, and to me it seems like it has the nicest ipod interface. i know a few people that have the f90bt and are happy with it. it helps that its nice and cheap too, and that Pioneer knows that theres issues with it and are coming out with fixes.

can you maybe grab a pic of exactly what you did with the bluetooth mic?

Problem with the f90bt is that one of the MOST annoying common problems is that it drops connectivity of your ipod randomly and you have to disconnect and reconnect the ipod to SOMETIMES get it to work -- sometimes it just won't work and you'll have to restart the VEHICLE to get the f90bt to reset.

It's ridiculous. Yeah, it's dirt cheap -- but there's a reason for that. Pioneer has released v2.0 -- there is no further updates that they acknowledge -- i called them at length regarding my issues and they told me that the unit was operating within normal limits and i could send my unit to them for "testing" if i was dissatisfied. Whatever, i sent it back to 6ave.com and got my $$ back and got a real unit -- the Kenwood that operates flawlessly. You know a few people that are happy with their f90's? I know of hundreds that are not: www.avic411.com LOL! it's your money...

1.5 minute boot time -- are you kidding me?? LOL

I'll find a pic of the microphone location for you...

ill consider different options, but still heavy on the f90bt.

sure there are hundreds that are disapointed on the avic411 forum....most people dont go online to write a review to praise something....they mostly go online and write reviews when youre unhappy. when you go to a restaurant and get horrible service, you complain to the manager or fill out a comment card and bash the hell out of the server, but when you get a great server you just tip them more and move on....you dont go tell the manager to praise them or fill out a positive comment card.....same thing goes for fourms. sure there are hundreds that are disapointed, but im sure Pioneer didnt only sell hundreds of f90bt's.....im sure theres 10 fold of customers that are happy, but just dont take the time to go online to express that.
