PAC Steering Wheel Interface Install Question - Connector Type?

Hi all,

Haven't seen a pic of this yet and was wondering if anyone could assist. Basically I wanted to know if the stock harness for the steering wheel interface that the PAC SWI needs to be wired to, will be able to use the same type of blade-type connectors that the standard stereo wiring harness has? Reason is I don't want to cut into the stock wiring and I figure if I can use these connectors and selectively plug them into the stock steering wheel control harness then that's less work I need to undo if I return to stock.

Haven't had time to take the dash apart yet to check, anyone have any pics possibly?

The pins on the harness are very small so I doubt you'll find a way to plug a spade connector into it. Just use T-Taps and when you're done just unplug the PAC module and your done. You don't have to gut the wires.

I've modified spade connectors to go into the tiny plug. you just have to have a VERY steady hand. I'd listen to Vrod and just use Ttaps - because once you modify the spade connectors it's a pain in the butt to get them into the connector without destroying the spade.

or better yet -- strip some wire and fish-eye hook the wires and solder -- heat shrink or tape over it...

Thanks all for the replies! Much appreciated. This'll be my first time installing a deck in the G, so I may as well do it all at once. If I get ambitious I'll do the loop since it'll probaby be more secure, but I've also read people have gotten decent results with t-taps. Thanks again!
