So i was wiring up my system yesterday and ground wire was already in my amplifier, then my power wire accidentally touched it and it made a spark. Now my amplifier wont work. I'm not saying that it blew but im just not sure what is wrong now.


Could my fuse blew under my hood? Because i just hope that my amplifier is fine.


Please help me out because i don't know what the problem could be.

 

More than likely, the fuse blew. Check it.

That's why you leave out the fuses until it's all in.

 

There's a good chance it's fried, but check the fuse under the hood. I would think you woulda done that being that you mentioned it. Does anything smell burnt?

 

Hey the fuse under the hood most likely blew. Depending on the amp check the fuse on the amp. BTW you should never put the fuse under the hood on before your system is wired

 

What kind of amp is it? Check the fuses on the amp itself too

 

?? why don't people disconnect the negative battery terminal before doing any work on their cars?

Most likely because it's unnecessary. If he would have left the fuse out of the power line until all of the connections were made he would not have had any problems, but that's a typical novice mistake.

you mean you still haven't popped your head under the hood? it takes 2 mins to pop hood, pop off battery cover take fuse out look at it say "awe crap now I gotta find a fuse who's open on sunday?"
