Radio not working...Please read
I haven’t posted on this forum for awhile but I wanted to pass along a good review on a company called Radio Medics. It all started when my radio and climate controls went out. After searching on this forum I came to find out that this is a very common problem with the early G’s. I also came to learn the issue is either in the circuit board or in the radio components. I found a used circuit board locally that I could try and that was not the issue. So the problem was not the circuit board it was the radio itself. Now I am left with a couple options.
1. Buy a used radio for $300 and hope that it holds up.
2. Have it repaired by a local guy for $450 and wait up to 4 weeks.
3. Buy an aftermarket unit and JDM climate controller and spend $700 at the very least for a radio and controller.
I really did not like any of the above options. Then I came across Radio Medics from a post on this site. They repaired the radio, replaced the gears in the CD player and replaced the light in my dash clock for $175. I live in Florida and Radio Medic is based out of California. I mailed out the radio on a Friday and had it back on Thursday of the following week. I could have had it faster if I paid for faster shipping. I just installed the radio and it works just like new. Best of all it comes with a 1 year warranty. Robert at Radio Medic informed me that I was the first one to respond to the add so I wanted to give them props for a great job. I could not be happier.
Here is the link to Radio Medics site. I highly recommend them.
