Im in the process of installing the pioneer avh-p7500dvd.

I put everything back on....then noticed that the "brake" light stays on no matter if its up or down??? i took out the center console to see if anything is on the switch...it looks okay.....

and to confirm...the parking brake wire from the deck, im suppose to GROUND that wire right? because I was trying to play a dvd and it wouldnt play.....for some reason it thinks my car is still motion (but the brake light is ON no matter what right now)..

whats the problem guys??? help

 

the parking brake wire is green/white and its near the parking break, obviously...
did you touch this wire? you might have unplugged this. look under the driver dash to see if its plugged in...

the red wire is the parking wire for my new HU... i grounded it after the installer installed it... sssshhhhhhhhhhhhh...

look under the driver dash?? where does it go??? i see the green/white wire near the parking break...i might have touched it...but i wiggled it around but i still get the BRAKE light ON....where am i suppose to look under the driver dash?

can you watch dvd's at least? is your head-unit parking brake grounded?

okay....my brake light works now....it turns off when I put the brake down..BUT my DVD still wont play....with the parking brake UP or DOWN....

I grounded my parking brake wire from the headunit to the black wire on the SCOSCHE wire harness.

What do you think is wrong?

 

can you watch dvd's with the parking brake down?

maybe your ground is not good. ground the wire to the car, not another wire. ground it to a metal screw thats onto a metal part. most people grounded it to the back of the clock, i think...

okay...ill try to ground it to the car or something...or part of the shifter or something....hopefully it works....cuz right now i cant watch anything...parking brake down or up ..since its not even connected to the parking brake switch it shouldnt matter right??

i guess its not a good ground point...let me find a real one...BRB...thanks for your help GRider35!

hahaha.... one more problem... my "service engine soon" light is on now..??? whats that about???

ill post install pics when i finish....i still have to mount the antenna to the back windshield and install the basslink

do u know how to navigate through dvd menus on the avh-p7500dvd...? the joystick doesnt seem to be working for me? i guess i should read the instruction booklet
