i don't know what specifically you're referring to, but since this is an audio application my guess is the shielding is to prevent distortions from magnetic/electrical fields from adjacent wires & cables.

to get a better understanding im looking a pages av-64 thru av-66. I understand that pins 22 and 24 on the display unit, 1 and 4 of the control unit,45 46 47 of connector m20(for gauge cluster) and 7 of the switch all interconnect and end up at m66 (body ground behind guage cluster) and m30(body ground behind upper golve box)... my question is where do all the other grounds on those pages get connected??? I don't see them on the ground distribution chart but i wouldn't think they all got grounded different places either.. does it mean it has it own internal ground or do i need to ground it???

im looking at on 04 service manual btw
also the word shield im talking about is on pg av-65 pin 51 on the navi sontrol unit

thanks for any help
