2005 G35 Double Din Conversion

Does anyone know if this will still be possible once the 2005 has hit the market, considering it's already almost august I'd much rather an 05 model then an 04 at this point. Thanks for any comments.

i am sure it is possible... just ask Yoshitaka from j-garage.com once the 2005 model is released in Japan... there is still no definite word on this though. Time will tell so just have patience. Hopefully Nissan decided to make the A/C controller board separate from the radio controls for us. You never know!

Re: 2005 G35 Double Din Conversion

i doubt that the AC board will be separate from the radio control IC board in the 2005's. The move is for increased integration of the AC, stereo, nav, engine, etc, etc, even though it pisses off enthusiasts who want to swap crappy stock parts. Its probably easier and cheaper for Infiniti USA to only manufacter 2 IC boards (one with DCC and one w/o DCC) rather than have all those cool stereo options available on the Japanese Skylines like the Kenwood, Pioneer AVIC N1 and the Cardozzeria(sp?) .

You would think that b/c Nissan Japan has doubleDIN parts, Nissan or Infiniti USA would stock doubleDIN parts.

With the rumors and the photochop image of the proposed 2005 interior being actual brushed aluminum, there should be parts for a doubleDIN conversion available from Japan. It will probably be more expensive than the cheap plastic one available now since it will be "authentic" brushed aluminum.
Brushed aluminum will be nice if it indeed comes stock on the 05's but after sitting under the hot sunlight for even an hour, you will probably be able to cook some eggs much less the palm of your hand or your wrist on that brushed aluminum.

We'll see....if dealers are taking orders already for the 2005, shouldn't a buyer/reservist know what options they will be getting before plopping down a deposit???

Just get the 2005 with the navi and you wont' have a problem. I wish I had gotten it in mine now.

hmm good suggestions all,

perhaps just get it with Nav is the best suggestion... then you can always hook up the AV-Electronics unit to watch dvd's etc. etc.
